What is rock wool board made from?
In industrial construction, equipment insulation, and fire protection systems, rock wool board is widely used. But what exactly is it made from? And why can it remain stable under high temperature, humidity, and long-term load conditions? The answer lies in its raw material source — natural volcanic rock.

Rock wool board is made from natural basalt and mineral rocks
CCEWOOL rock wool board is manufactured mainly from basalt, diabase, dolomite, and other natural mineral rocks. These volcanic rocks are melted at extremely high temperatures and then fiberized through high-speed centrifugal spinning, followed by settling, web forming, curing, and precision cutting into boards.
No asbestos is added, no toxic substances are released — it is a truly green, mineral-based insulation material.
Performance advantages from natural raw materials
Because rock wool board originates from natural volcanic minerals, it offers performance benefits that synthetic fibers cannot easily achieve:
High temperature resistance without melting: Basalt’s high melting point ensures rock wool board remains structurally stable — non-combustible, no dripping under heat.
Excellent chemical stability: Natural minerals resist acid, alkali, and flue gas corrosion — suitable for long-term metallurgical, furnace, boiler and heater systems.
Environmentally safe: Made from natural rocks, recyclable, and does not contain carcinogenic substances.
Long-term thermal performance retention: Uniform porous micro-structure maintains heat resistance with minimal thermal decay over time.
Because of these benefits, CCEWOOL rock wool board has become the trusted insulation choice for building envelopes, equipment insulation, chimney systems, industrial heating furnaces, and high-temperature process lines.
It is made from natural volcanic rock
CCEWOOL Rock wool board is not a chemical-based material — its core composition is natural basalt and mineral rock, which is also the fundamental source of its insulation, fire resistance, durability, and environmental value.
