The relationship between density and fireproof ceramic fiber board

Temperature on all kinds of refractory ceramic fiber board has direct impact on thermal conductivity, when temperature increases, the thermal conductivity also having increase.
Aluminum silicate fiber products have porous structure, easy to moisture absorption. When the moisture rate is more than 5% ~ 10%, the material moisture absorption moisture occupied the original filled air space, causing the effective thermal conductivity increase significantly.
Density of refractory ceramic fiber board is the direct reflection of porosity, thermal conductivity for gas phase usually is less than solid gas phase, so product of thermal insulation material has big porosity but very small density. In general, increase the porosity or reduce density will led to the declrease for refractory ceramic fiber board’s thermal conductivity.
Thermal insulation materials such as refractory ceramic fiber board, most of the heat conduction comes from the pore gas. Therefore, the thermal conductivity of insulation material in very great degree is decided by the variety of filling gas. If filled with helium or hydrogen in cryogenic engineering, which can be viewed that thermal conductivity of insulation and thermal material is almost same as these gases because the thermal conductivity of hydrogen and helium gas is larger.
Refractory ceramic fiber board’s heat capacity is related to calculate thermal insulation structure in required cooling and heating. At low temperature, all solid specific heat changes a lot.
