Introduction of insulating refractory material for blast furnace 1

     Modern large and medium-sized blast furnaces require service life of 10 years (or even 15 years). Therefore, strict requirements are imposed on the type and quality of insulating refractory material. In the blast furnace, due to different reaction conditions in various areas, the temperature fluctuates greatly, and the thermal shocks to be experienced in each area are also different. Therefore, the required insulating refractory materials are also different.

     From top to bottom, the blast furnace body is divided into furnace throat, furnace shaft, furnace waist, furnace belly, hearth and furnace bottom. The use of refractory materials in the middle and lower parts of the blast furnace shaft and the bottom of the furnace is the key to determining the life of the blast furnace.

     1)Insulating refractory materialfor furnace throat. The throat is a part that is directly impacted and rubbed when the charge is lowered, and is easily worn. Generally, high-density high-aluminum brick masonry is used. However, the brick is not durable and is therefore protected by a wear-resistant cast steel shield.
