     In order to increase the blast temperature of the furnace, use ceramic burners and flue gas to preheat the combustion air and gas, and at the same time strengthen the pipeline insulation measures to minimize heat loss, has important practical significance for energy conservation. Use high temp ceramic blankets on the hot air surrounding pipes and the local hot air main pipes. The production practice proved that the results were good.

     High temp ceramic blankets have high refractoriness, low thermal conductivity and small heat capacity. Its main components are alumina, a small amount of ferric oxide, and silicon oxide. The reason why a high-temperature ceramic blanket has good thermal insulation performance is that its thermal conductivity is the lowest among refractory materials. Therefore, using it as a liner can greatly reduce the heat loss of the pipeline and reduce the wind temperature drop.

     It has been reported that high temp ceramic blankets are difficult when being used on horizontal pipes. After it is put into production, the fiber mat on the top of the circumference is liable to slide, causing the pipe at the site to overheat and turn red. To solve this problem, besides the quality of high temp ceramic blankets must be good, the key lies in the appropriate way of construction. Requirements in the construction:

     First, rust and limescale must be removed from the inner surface of the pipeline. The adhesive must be evenly applied, and there must be no dead ends. Make sure that the high temp ceramic blanket is tightly bonded to the steel shell.

     Second, there must be compaction between the brick lining and the high temp ceramic blanket. If there is any gap, the brick lining should be properly processed.

     Third, use two layers of high temp ceramic blankets, each with a thickness of 10 mm. The two high temp ceramic blankets are pasted with a flat seam, and the two layers require a staggered joint.

     In hot air ducts, traditional asbestos panels can and should be replaced with high temp ceramic blankets. At the same time, it is also practicable to paste high temp ceramic blankets on the walls of hot blast stoves, fire walls, hot air outlet tubes, hot air manifolds, gooseneck tubes, and connecting tubes.
