Characteristics of CCEWOOL aluminium silicate refractory fiber
The non-ferrous metal casting workshop uses a large number of wells, box type resistance furnace to smelt metal and heating drying various materials. These devices account for a large proportion of the energy consumed by the machinery industry. How to utilize and save energy rationally is one of the main problems that urgently needs to solve for industrial sector. Among the many refractory thermal insulation materials, aluminum silicate refractory fiber attracting more and more attention because of its unique properties, and is widely applied in various industrial furnaces.

Aluminum silicate refractory fiber is a new type of refractory thermal insulation material. According to the statistics, the resistance furnace that uses aluminum silicate fiber can save more than 20% of the energy consumption, some as high as 40%. Aluminum silicate refractory fiber has the following characteristics.
(1)High temperature resistance
Ordinary aluminum silicate refractory fibre is a kind of amorphous fibers made from molten of refractory clay, bauxite, or high alumina raw materials through special cooling method. Using temperature is under 1000 ℃, some up to 1300 ℃. This is because the thermal conductivity and heat capacity of aluminum silicate refractory fibers are close to the air. It consists of solid fibers and air, with a gap of over 90%. Because a large number of low thermal conductivity air is filled in pores, the continuous network structure of solid molecules is destroyed, thus having excellent heat and heat preservation performance.
(2)Chemical stability
Aluminum silicate refractory fiber’s chemical stability is determined by its chemical composition and impurity content.This material has very low alkali content and is very stable in oxidizing atmosphere. However, in the strong reduction atmosphere, impurities such as FeO3 and TiO2 in the fiber are easily reduced and affect its service life.
(3)Density and thermal conductivity
With different production process, the bulk density of aluminum silicate refractory fiber differs greatly, generally within 50~500kg/m3 range. The coefficient of thermal conductivity is the main index to measure the performance of refractory thermal insulation material. The low thermal conductivity is one of the main reasons that aluminum silicate refractory fiber has better thermal insulation performance than other similar materials. In addition, its thermal conductivity is the same as other refractory thermal insulation materials, and is not a constant, which is related to bulk density and temperature.
(3)Simple construction
This kind of refractory material is light and easy to process, and can be made into various products after adding the binder. There are different specifications of felt, blanket and other finished products, its application is extremely convenient.
