Review of China’s refractory industry running conditions in 2015.
In 2015, effected by the doldrums of domestic steel industry and other downstream industries, especially the demand decline of infrastructure refractories. National Refractories production is 1.311 million tons less than last year.
In 2015, the national total refractory raw materials import and export trade is $ 3.561 billion--an increase of 10.45% over the previous year. Among which, the export volume is $ 3.33 billion-- an increase of 11.30%; import trade is $ 231 million, a decrease of 0.49%.
Refractory raw materials export prices showed a downward trend. In 2015, fused magnesia and sintered magnesia exports were 369,200 tons and 663,200 tons (total 1,032,400 tons) --an increase of 22.20% and 39.42% respectively; refractory aluminum clay, corundum and corundum export volume were 868,500 tons, 616,200 tons and 194,000 tons--an increase of 13.10%, 10.94% and 23.35% respectively; graphite and silicon carbide exports were 121,100 tons and 319,800 tons--an increase of -2.14% and 11.51%, respectively .

Refractory products export volume and average price were up. In 2015, basic refractory products exports was 99,87 million tons, decreasing 2.91%; alumina silicate refractory products exports was 721,700 tons--an increase of 22.54%; other refractory products exports was 141,600 tons, representing a decrease of 6.36%. The average price of refractory products exports grew 4.27%, where the average basic refractory products, alumina silicate refractory products and other refractory products export prices rose 4.38%, 12.22% and 13.86% respectively.
