Last issue we introduced thermal insulating material used at blast furnace belly. This issue we will introduce thermal insulation material used at blast furnace tuyere area.
Refractory material used at blast furnace tuyere. The temperature of tuyere area is at above 2000 °C; So this part is subjected to large thermal stresses, such as physical damage like friction; and chemical erosion by alkali, zinc, carbon deposition, etc., as well as impact damage of airflow and melt; The structural body of blast furnace tuyere area made of thermal insulation materials, often occur major failures such as damage and air leakage. In the past, The structural body of blast furnace tuyere area is often made of clay refractory bricks or sillimanite refractory bricks. Recently replaced by good alkali resistance, high-strength silicon carbide refractory bricks.
