Introduction of acidic, neutral and alkaline high temp refractory
High temp refractory material has widespread applications whether in metallurgy, petroleum, chemical or mechanical manufacturing industry.
High temp refractory material is the basic and essential material for lots of industry’s production operations and technology development. It also plays an irreplaceable role in high temp industry. Common refractory material varieties are divided into acidic, neutral and alkaline high temp refractory material.
1. The acidic refractory material takes SIO2 as the main component. The most common products are silicate brick and clay brick. Acidic refractory material has excellent acid-resistance and corrosion-resistance ability. Load softening temperature is high and the volume will not change after repeated firing. But the thermal shock resistance is poor, it is easy to be eroded by alkali slag. It is generally used in thermal equipment.
2. Neutral refractory materials takes chromium oxide or carbon as the main component. Corundum brick is a kind of high-quality high temp refractory material with widespread applications, excellent thermal shock resistance and excellent corrosion resistance. Carbonaceous refractory material has been widely used as high-temperature furnace lining, and oil and chemical autoclave liner.
3. Alkaline high temp refractory material takes magnesium oxide and calcium oxide as the main ingredient. . It is mainly used in open hearth, basic oxygen furnace, electric furnace, non-ferrous metal smelting equipment and some high-temperature equipment.
