Characteristics of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber
Aluminum silicate ceramic fiber products are the most common thermal insulation materials used in high temperature kilns today. Aluminum silicate ceramic fiber materials have advantages of low thermal conductivity, light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, small heat capacity, and good resistance to mechanical vibration, low thermal expansion, good thermal insulation etc.

(1) Good high temperature resistance.
According to raw materials and working temperature, the aluminum silicate ceramic fiber can be classified into three types: low temperature (below 900 ℃), standard type (below 1200 ℃), and high temperature (1400 ~ 1600 ℃). The maximum working temperature of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber is much higher than rock wool and glass wool(500 ~ 700 ℃).
(2) Low thermal conductivity
Aluminum silicate ceramic fiber' s thermal conductivity under high temperature is low, and it has excellent thermal insulation performance. At 1000℃, its thermal conductivity is only 15% of refractory clay bricks and about 38% of light clay bricks, but its thermal conductivity has a great relationship with temperature, bulk density, shot content and fiber diameter.
① The thermal conductivity of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber decreases with the increase of the bulk density, but the magnitude of the decrease gradually decreases. Even when the bulk density exceeds a certain range, the thermal conductivity no longer decreases and has an increasing tendency.
② At different temperatures, there is a minimum thermal conductivity and a corresponding minimum bulk density.
③ The smallest thermal conductivity based on minimum bulk density will increase with increasing temperature.
