2.Furnace body. It is an important part of the blast furnace body, playing the role of heating, reducing and slagging. Refractory brick as the lining throughout suffers from erosion and impact of material gas flow. But temperature is low in the upper and middle portion of the furnace body (400℃~800℃). So there is no slag formation and corrosion. Refractory brick in this part mainly bears furnace material impact, abrasion from the rising dust or thermal shock (up to 50℃/min) and invasion of alkali, zinc and carbon deposition. In the lower portion of the furnace body, temperature is higher and a lot of slag forms. There is friction during hot burden falls. The scouring action when gas and dust rise and the alkali metal vapor will absolutely erode the refractory bricks. The service life of blast furnace has a great relationship with the furnace body. Therefore, the parts (especially the lower part of the furnace body) require high-quality clay bricks, high-alumina refractory bricks and corundum bricks of good slag resistance, high alkali resistance and excellent strength in high temperature and super wear resistance.

 

     3.Furnace waist. It plays a roll of a buffer in rising gas stream. High temperature of furnace waist ranges from 1400℃ to 1600℃ and radiation severely erodes. Alkali erosion of the refractory bricks is more serious. Fiery furnace gas dust rises, severely eroding the lining. Coke and other materials produce friction and hot air brings dramatic changes in temperature. Therefore, the furnace waist is also an easily damaged region, which directly affects the service life of the blast furnace.
