Difference between insulating ceramic fiber bulk and rock wool and their application
Both insulating ceramic fiber bulk and rock wool are high temperature resistant. And both can be used in single crystal furnaces, metallurgical casting, petroleum cracking and space technology ablation resistant, high temperature resistant thermal insulation materials. In this issue, we will introduce the difference between insulating ceramic fiber bulk and rock wool and their application.
1. Difference between insulating ceramic fiber bulk and rock wool
① Performance difference
Insulating ceramic fiber bulk has longer service life and greater and better fiber tenacity. Insulating ceramic fiber bulk has lower thermal conductivity. In addition, working temperature of insulating ceramic fiber bulk is above 1000 degrees. Commonly used types are 1050 and 1230. While the working temperature of rock wool is about 600 degrees.
② Application difference
Insulating ceramic fiber bulk can be used for low temperature insulation of 200 degrees, medium temperature insulation of 500 degrees, and can also be used for fire insulation at 1000 degrees. Rock wool is generally used for insulation at about 500 degrees, and is mostly used for insulation of thermal pipes, electrical equipment, etc.
